Young Mammals “Dragon Wagon”

Fresh out of the oven is Young Mammals’ music video for “Dragon Wagon” from their Carrots LP. It was directed by fellow Houstonians Funwunce, whose name you may recognize from their Pitchfork and Stereogum-approved unofficial video for LCD Soundsystem’s “Home”. Its bare-naked simplicity puts a lot of pressure on the energy derived from the quartet and direction, and the collaboration works out like PB+J.

Young Mammals have two final CMJ performances, both on Friday:
10/22 FRI @ 4:20pm Sippy Cup Everything Showcase @ Spike Hill
10/22 FRI @ 11:00pm | RethinkPopMusic Showcase @ Crash Mansion (with MiniBoone at 9pm)

Makin some b&w flyers for Sippy Cup Everything’s CMJ Showcase, this Friday afternoon at Spike Hill. This is the backside with Young Mammals, MiniBoone, and Little Racer’s schedules this week. Say hey if you’re gonna be in NYC this week.

"Their album, Carrots, immediately creates an energy that holds on throughout the release. Driving rhythms push through to crescendos of patience testing volume only to be released by gentle landings just a few moments ahead. This work shows the many sides of their creative output thus far, and hopes to bring listeners along in the ups and downs that Carrots lays out before them."
“Their off-kilter jams remind me a bit of the Black Lips’ playfulness, only with a lot more complexity and artful discordance thrown in.”

"There is no cure for exuberance. There is also no comparison. Houston, TX indie rock outfit Young Mammals know this on a molecular level, and debut LP Carrots bears out this notion, boiling over like some forgotten pot of water."
