That’s the album art above; stream it on Spinner for a crash-course-plus-update on Ethiopia’s Golden Era of Pop Music in the 60s and 70s. Be warned that this shit can be heavy; songs like “Ney Ney Weleba” and “Asha Gedawo” swell with big band tension, right up to the point of destruction before finding their release. Things begin at 9ish. For those not in Allstoontown, they’ll do a quick run through Northampton, Brooklyn, DC, and Rhode Island too.
