Hi I'm Mike. I like helping artists around a new release or tour. And putting on shows from time to time. And posting stuff. Ask me everything.

Arvid Noe are kind enough to break their No Shows While Recording rule to close out the evening. They are a tightly wound trio, professionals at freak-punk sounds evidenced on their self-titled debut and their tri-split with Skimask and Fat History Month. Unsure whether they’ll play on the floor like last time, but anticipate making the same “dance moves” you would at a Hella or Lightning Bolt show.

Grass is Green celebrates the release of their third full-length this evening. Titled Ronson and released by GHouse, it displays a band seemingly eager to update the late-Dischord post-punk sound they grew up on. Those who have worn out their Faraquet and Les Savy Fav records should take note; Boston hasn’t had something this fun and angular since Clickers, and the city is all the better for it. “Riff Sibling” MP3

Speedy Ortiz is making the Boston rounds from Northampton, and the city is all the greater for it. Sadie (former frontlady of the excellent Brooklyn band Quilty) recorded The Death of Speedy Ortiz at camp last summer, and enlisted members of Graph and Ovlov to round out the live show we saw January 4th at Allston City Limits. The compositions successfully tip their hat to other WestMA bands like Sebadoh and Dinosaur Jr, right down to the wiseass wit in the lyrics.
“Cutco” MP3

Sneeze are Allston basement dwellers, bringing their sounds to ground-level for the night. Download or stream their debut Grandma in the Trenches 7” to experience a hook-heavy grunge & punk crash course. I’m Going to Kill Myself, their 15-song full-length, is reportedly out of the oven and cooling before serving.
